An Adventurers’ dream book! Viking ships, Iceland, free-divers, dogsled races, sailing, tightrope walking and more!

I have read Jeff Blumenfeld’s book Get Sponsored: A Funding Guide for Explorers, Adventurers, and Would-Be World Travelers and it was inspirational, wonderfully written, thought provoking and very clever. Blumenfeld has a gift of being "the voice" and "telling the story". I really enjoyed all the personal stories, reflections and marketing techniques. Plus the photos in the middle section of the book enhanced the images I drew in my mind reading each adventure / strategic marketing plan.
While reading the book I ended up Google-ing so many things and checking out many of the websites, people and stories Blumenfeld wrote about. The journey continues, even after you finish reading a book thanks to the power of the Internet, you can check in and up on things!
I never knew about Tango, the pedal powered boat at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut, or pareidolia which helps to explain a some 9-11 images that look like a devil face in smoke behind the twin towers. I also never knew or thought about those who turned down adventures, like the man who turned down being Amelia Earhart's navigator which Blumenfeld writes about.
I found the book Get Sponsored fascinating! I really liked the Will Stenger Foundation’s plastic tube that traveled the Arctic sea to Country Donegal, Ireland, and then the man that found the item, turns down a trip to NYC to be part of this cool historic event! People are so unpredictable! I've struggled with spelling my, whole life, and I found it hopeful, that spelling mistake "expidition" was the "it" thing that caught your eye. I am constantly working on proofreading. It's so amazing how people choose to spend their life or what makes someone passionate about a certain thing.
I rated this book 5 stars because it is an Adventurers’ dream book! With topics like Viking ships, Iceland, free-divers, dogsled races, sailing and tightrope walking, it's all so interesting. I truly am in a constant state of amazement in this life, and enjoy hearing about peoples adventures, endeavors and travels. Thank you for making me aware of becoming a citizen scientist and finding my niche to contributing to the further advancement of human kind, I never thought about that before. It is very exciting stuff!
The book covers so many topics and interesting people! A great read! I would recommend to anyone in the adventure community or those who love to live vicariously and dream really big!

Author Jeff Blumenfeld has worked in adventure marketing and is a specialist when it comes to getting the funds you need to go on that death defying mountain climb. “Get sponsored: A funding Guide for Explorers, Adventurers, and would-be World Travelers” is the only book out there which intricately explains and goes behind the scenes of iconic, inspiring and historical contemporary adventures. Moreover it also explains in details how anybody who has a dream to encounter something remarkable can fund their own extreme escapades.
Jeff says, “Is it easy to get someone to pay for your dream trip? No, not at all, but with the right idea and proper advance preparation, it is possible to raise thousands of dollars in cash and in-kind products and services for worthy endurance projects.”
After reading the book you’ll realize how it expertly guides you to negotiate with different companies to fund your trips. Jeff also provides great advice different factors influencing your sponsor’s decision, for example how to take photos that will excite your sponsors. The book guides you on how to impress your sponsors and bring them in for the long haul. Jeff also suggests that you to search for adventure schools that can teach you the fundamentals and skills needed to go on extended adventures.
